ASD airborne surface disinfection unit for hospitals, nursing homes and the medical sector: TwinCruiser VGF

Medical environments in hospitals present proven risks for viral and microbial spread. Contamination can occur between patients and staff via surfaces such as floors, walls, furniture and even care materials and equipment. To eliminate all risks of propagation, potential sources of nosocomial infection, and to ensure the health of both staff and patients, the most effective decontamination possible is essential. This objective of prevention and sanitary reassurance is even more prevalent in the context of coronavirus and its variants.

An ASD process for use as a hospital surface disinfectant and for complementary air purification

Vigitechnics, a French manufacturer of aerosol surface disinfection equipment, markets the TwinCruiser VGF decontamination robot (and its TwinCruiser LC version). It complies with current health standards: T72-281 (2014), NF T72-281 (2009) and NF EN 14348. This automated device has been designed to thoroughly sanitise premises, spaces and surfaces in health care establishments such as hospitals, clinics and, by extension, analytical laboratories, dental or veterinary practices. It uses Oxygen Peroxide (H2O2) as a biocide, supplemented if necessary, by Ozone to purify the air: a complementary treatment to be considered in view of Covid-19 propagation risks (aerosols and droplets) in enclosed spaces. It is also adapted to the ambulance disinfection cleaning protocol.

What are the advantages of the Vigitechnics TwinCruiser VGF robot in a medical environment?

• 100% automated ASD equipment
• Easy to use (control and monitoring by MMI or remotely via computer, tablet or smartphone)
• Adapted to the Hospital Disinfection Protocol
• Rapid deployment

What are the principles of Airborne Surface Disinfection (ASD)?

In France, these principles are defined in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) available on the National Institute for Research and Security INRS (Institut National de Recherche et de Sécurité) website.. On the one hand, the ASD is not an air disinfection process, but a surface disinfection process that must be implemented without any human presence “using a robot spraying a disinfection product” as is the case with the TwinCruiser VGF and LC which can be programmed remotely to commence operation at a specific time. On the other hand, the device and product combination “must meet the tests described in the NF T72-281 standard to claim activity on micro-organisms”. Any bacteria and viruses present on all elevated surfaces, as well as in less accessible corners, are effectively eliminated. The environment in which patients are received, cared for... and the working environment in general is then healthy. As recommended by the INRS, any ASD must be carried out with the ventilation switched off. This must be reactivated according to the contact time of the biocide and the time recommended by the equipment manufacturer.

ASD and decontamination equipment for hospital and medical

TwinCruiser VGF: dedicated Hydrogen Peroxide and Ozone apparatus

TwinCruiser VGF is an automated ASD appliance whose objective is to help professionals in the medical sector, hospitals and clinics primarily to prevent and treat contamination. It diffuses, via aerosolisation using a venturi nozzle, a disinfectant based on Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) < 8 % and, if necessary, Peroxone (03H2O2) for a complete surface and air decontamination. The biocide is neither corrosive nor toxic and is biodegradable. TwinCruiser VGF is adapted to the needs of health care centres as well as to the various clinics and care and health establishments of care and health, para-medical and ambulance.

TwinCruiser LC: the alternative to Hydrogen Peroxide alone

TwinCruiser LC is also an airborne surface disinfection unit. It is programmable and automated with a treatment capacity identical to the VGF model, up to 300 m3. It sprays, in dry mist form, a disinfectant based on Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) < 8 %, allowing it to decontaminate the air and whole surface of a treated area. It uses software which operates as a rapid programming interface, compatible with the Windows platform. It can be controlled from any device (smartphone, tablet, computer). It is also equipped with a Wi-Fi modem. It provides a complete history of cycles and biocides used. It is suitable for the decontamination of sensitive environments such as operating theatres patients’ rooms, clean rooms, laboratories...
